Upward Spiral: On Letting Go and Moving Ahead

In a nutshell, Jason and I met during an unfortunate circumstance. But with God, there are no coincidences in life. It took me quite some time to let go of something good to accept something better, and even the best.

But in letting go of a past relationship, there’s always a struggle to cling to those memories. There are good days and then there are bad – when we are always reminded of “what was, and what could have been”. But one thing I know is that we must find God. Though there are bad days, we know that there is one who won’t let us down and give us ¬†happiness that no human can give. ¬†We can never be truly happy apart from Him because He is our eternal joy.

In Psalm 16:11, it says, “You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.”

We must only give God a chance and accept His better deal and best offer.

Sharing with you Upward Spiral, a poem I wrote on the night before our Pre-Nup shoot to be used then.

Upward Spiral

Today I resist a glimpse

…a longing look to the past

where smiles and dances

float into the moonlight

where everything promises to last

But when shadows thicken once again

when day turns to night

Fleeting laughters, soft whispers

flood the mind

and streams cloud the sight.

Let me forget the happiness

Let me forget the pain

If only eternal joy would find me

And free this soul in chain.

And when it comes, I’ll know

When it’s true, it will show

As the light seeps in

I resist a glimpse

I will step forward yet again

and continue to hope

and continue to pray

that joy will find me…

…and FOREVER is on its way..
