I’ve never lived on my own so when I left home, I had to adjust to preparing breakfast not just for one but two. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a joy to serve my husband and see how he appreciates the effort and the food. But i admit that after quite some time of getting up earlier than usual and cooking, I also welcome the thought of getting up late and having breakfast instantly prepared for me for a change. So when it’s one of those days, happiness is an understatement to just have our meal served by restaurants nearby. Hubby offered to take me out on an early Saturdate.
Cafe Lidia in Marikina actually boasts of its pizza and pasta menu, but on this particular Saturday we opted for their breakfast 🙂
Like all restaurants in Marikina, we felt like we were dining in our own home. It’s actually the signature of most if not all Marikina restaurants to convert their homes into dining places. Every place then is welcoming and had a warm and cozy atmosphere.
I personally think that there’s nothing quite distinct about their breakfast menu. It was reasonable for restaurant price but pricey when you think about how you can cook it too at home.
However since we were on a Saturdate, it was acceptable. 🙂 We were two happy eaters filled with food and stories over breakfast.
When my sister came home from SG, we went back and tried their Pizza and Pasta. (yey! Finally found the photos)
I especially liked their Spaghetti with Garlic and Anchovy. It was a mouthful for a solo. I think 2 could have shared this.
Here are photos though of their pizzas I took on my first visit. I wasn’t able to take a photo of ours on my second visit.
Their mozzarella cheese sticks are highly recommended! It was like having the Fried Mozzarella Sticks in Fridays but more affordable at Php140.00 only. It had around 4/5 pcs and it was stuffed and oozing with cheese. Such a delight to eat! I would definitely have this again when I return.
I wouldn’t come back for breakfast here but as a group, I think they’ll enjoy this dining place as their menu is mostly to share. 🙂
