Long Weekend Coffee Review | Marikina

FINALLY! A nice, quiet coffee shop (born) in Marikina City! The newest #Coffice in town. It has been ages since we’ve been looking for a coffee shop that has a nice ambiance and great coffee… and it’s here! A hang out place to feel the Long Weekend vibes – a subtle mix of work and play.

THE PLACE

The place was quite accessible, just search in waze GMT Building (in JP Rizal).

This place is perfect for one on one meetings, being alone to study / work or just relax on the couches.

Or if you prefer to dine with your family and friends they have this long bar table and an enclosed area / a semi-function room.

THE DRINKS

What I like about this place is that its coffee is not that strong and it serves premium, medium roast Arabica beans. It didn’t have that bitter aftertaste, but instead it had a very pleasant one. It was perfect for chatting over a cup of coffee – enjoyable and relaxing. Really feels like you’re on a Long Weekend.

I was also able to try their Frappes here which costs from Php 105-130. I had their Feel Good Caramel Frappe which had some popcorns in it. It wasn’t too sweet and you can taste the caramel in it. I was reminded of the more commercial coffee chain with this taste. But the best part is that it only costs Php 125 for its biggest size. Sulit!

I was also able to try their Baguio Passion (Strawberries and Cream), I love it so Matcha and Oreos and Cream. Among the 3 I prefer the matcha one. What I liked about it is they didn’t shortchange me on the matcha. Its flavor was in every sip. I hope they maintain that good quality!

THE FOOD

They had 4 pastas but I was able to try 2.

Pasta Arrabiata (Php 150) which had a hint of spiciness to it. Now served with this crispy toasted bread.

And Pesto w/aioli. They upgraded the Pesto and it is now served with Poached egg and some veggies and toasted bread on the side.

The dish I enjoyed was their Beef Tapa served with garlic rice and sunny side up. I liked how tender the beef was, the sweet and sour taste to it, and how it complimented the garlic rice. Served alongside their homemade vinegar. This is a definite must try!

They are now serving Waffles!

If you must, try their Breakfast Waffles! The Bacon was so crispy it’s so addicting! Huhu.. This is a complete meal at only Php 150!

For me this was just okay but if you want something hot and cold this is perfect for you! The waffles are served fresh and hot while the ice cream on top was served. cold. čśŤ It was┬átemperatures at war! čśŤ

What’s nice about this is that the food in their photos look just like the actual. No fuss no frills, you get what you see! And even more! Whenever I just feel like hanging out, reading a book, blogging, meeting with friends or even clients, this became my go to place here in Marikina. As I work, I can almost hear the waves rolling. Long weekend calling, Long Weekend is near. :)

Chill vibes, good coffee, good company (everybody almost knows everybody here), what more can you ask for? :)
